  • Lionel Conacher's 1933 football team, Crosse & Blackwell Chefs

I'm looking for a Toronto-based program for a football team that Lionel Conacher organized, promoted and starred for in 1933. Most sports historians know that Lionel Conacher played multiple sports but what I hadn't realized that he also apparently was the prime mover for the first professional team in Canadian Football history. His team, called the Crosse & Blackwell Chefs was sponsored by the Crosse & Blackwell food production company and played their games at Maple Leaf Stadium. It was an independent team unaffiliated with any league and it played only three games in 1933 (two home, one away). Apparently, the Chefs opponents were American semi-pro independent teams (the Rochester Arpeakos and a Buffalo club - name uncertain). Anyone know anything about it, or even have the needle in the haystack that I am looking for...a program for one of those games?
