  • PSA Problem: 1960 Hemmets Journal Muhammad Ali

    It is pretty obvious that the demand for the 1960 Hemmets Journal Cassius Clay/ Muhammad Ali card is pretty high. For example, on Feb 19th 2017 a PSA 7 went for $3,050 USD. A PSA 8 went for $3,605 USD back in December of 2016. The reason for this is because there are many boxing card collectors out there who consider it to be his true rookie card.

    Now here is the problem I have with this: it's NOT a card! Take a look at how the uncut sheet looks like below:

    Now if you look at the reverse, it becomes evident that these sheets were NOT meant to be cut into cards. Take a look at how ridiculous this PSA card looks:

    You'll see the "Journal" part which appears on top of the card - what a joke! PSA should NOT be grading these at all.
