How did this Gretzky RC only receive a grade of PSA 4?

A 4 could mean more than one wrinkle/crease.

Submitter had carnal relations with grader's sister.

          LOL good one Hart,
PSA >>> To bad, send it back for re-grade so we can make more money from you.
Kidding aside most likely a hairline crease somewhere on that card.

Think so? Isn’t there a tiny bit of rough cut along the top and bottom edges?

Looks like a slight crease on the bottom right corner and probably one elsewhere. But if you’re buying the card and not the grade, it’s a beauty!

The card is graded incorrectly , it’s called PSA being hard asses, save your money!

It is impossible to accurately assess a cards grade from scans. Many flaws are not detectable from a picture, nevermind without magnification and proper lighting.

You see so many posts like these on Facebook and I just shake my head.

Exactly. There's obviously a wrinkle that doesn't show on the scan.
Facebook is for amateurs, children and my wife. It's not where serious collectors congregate

I am thinking gum/wax stain on the front and a slight wrinkle somewhere. One surface wrinkle would make it a PSA 5.

I would crack that one out for sure. That looks much better than a 4.
