  • Greatest lightweights of all time ??

I'd have to go with Gary Howatt and Mel Bridgman. Howatt was 5'9 175 and he beat Schultz once. He'd fight anybody, and most of the time fought guys bigger then him, and very rarely lost. Bridgman was 6'0 - 190, and saw him beat O'Reilly and Jonathan and never really saw him lose a fight. Once saw him fight Howatt to a draw. Being that Howatt gave up height and weight, I'd have to go with Howatt. Mike Milbury once made the mistake of taking on Bridgman.

Howatt was from just down the road and watched his brother Mel play on our Senior team when I was a junior.

Stan Johnathan comes to mind 5' 8" 175 lbs for the 70's.

Wendel Clarke back in the 80's but he is more of middle weight I guess.

Of the new age is you ask the players many would not mess with Wayne Simmons 180lbs while riding the chicken he is perched on.

    Special mention to Jordan Tootoo.

Agree about both those picks. Did not realize Wayne was that light.
